Talksafe Heroes
Fearless young Londoners on a mission to help other young people fight their problems across the capital.
Who are the Talksafe Heroes?
You are! Heroes are young people who have taken on the mission to tell their friends about Talksafe - and are winning prizes in the Heroes League.
If you register as a Hero each time you get one of your friends to visit the Talksafe website with your Hero Tag you score points. You can score points for other things as well - you can find out more when you register.
How do you score points?
Now it’s time to get on with your mission. You can score points for all kinds of things around the site:
- Use your Hero tag on Facebook or Twitter to get your friends to visit Talksafe – 100 points per friend.
- If your friends register they become your side-kick. That means the first 1000 points they score as a Hero you get as well.
- Comment on an article - 100 points (when we approve it – so don’t just say anything!).
- Share an article on Facebook or Twitter – 100 points.
- Finishing a quiz – 250 points.
Remember, a true Hero must stay sharp. From time to time we’ll be putting ads up around the site for Heroes to earn extra points – so keep your eyes peeled.
What prizes?
Over the next year we’ll be hosting events for the top-scoring Heroes and their friends - and you can choose what you want the events to be.
There’s a pile of cash and you can vote for what you want to have:
- a prom
- a private screening at a cinema
- a paintballing day
- a go-kart racing day
- or any other idea you can dream up
It’s up to you.
We’ll even arrange some surprise events - like backstage VIP tickets for gigs, and at the end of the year we’ll be giving prizes to Heroes at at a Celebrity Party.
Just register and start spreading the word on Facebook and Twitter – remember for each friend you get to visit here you get more points!

Why not sign up to the mission? You could make a real difference to young people all over London by putting them in touch with Talksafe. It’s a safe place where they can talk about their problems and get help, or just find out about growing up.
All you have to do is give us a few of your details like your email address, the borough where you live, and your age and then you can make your Hero profile. You can have a secret identity if you’re worried about people finding out (just like Spiderman).
Once you’ve set up your profile you can score points for doing things around the site and pick up your Hero tag and use it on Facebook or Twitter, or invite your friends by email.
If you’re one of the top-scoring Heroes you’ll win prizes and we’ll invite you and a friend to events where you can meet other Heroes from all over London.

Oh Beth, I'm sorry for what you have been through. Bullying can be so turmaatic and have such long standing negative effects on someone. You are right about verbal insults not being true! Bullies will do anything to hurt and have power over someone else including convincing someone they are fat' or ugly' when they are far from either of those things.Are you still being bullied? If so, you really need to tell someone who might be able to put a stop to it, you shouldn't have to live your life in fear.Even when the bullying stops, it can take a long time to heal from the experience and it's important there is someone you can talk to about what happened to you.Personally I don't think there is such a thing as normal'! The only normal I know is the setting on an old washing machine or tumble drier. Seriously though, we are all different in our own right and that is a good thing. Being ill doesn't make us abnormal' it just makes us ill. People don't describe someone suffering from the flu or even cancer abnormal' but many don't hesitate to describe people suffering from mental illness as odd' abnormal' or a freak'. It's not right, is it!Keep fighting to get better hon and try to talk to someone about how you feel.
