Everyone has a range of feelings which we experience at different times. During adolescence though, it is normal for your feelings to become more intense and unpredictable.
What can I do to help myself?
Here are some things you can do to help yourself when you feel down:
• Get enough sleep
• Eat healthily
• Exercise
• Talk to someone
• Have a bath
• Read a book
• Learn something new
• Do something for someone else
Who can I talk to?
If you are struggling it is important to talk to someone you can trust – for example, a family member, a friend, your GP, or someone you trust at school or college. You can also talk to a Talksafe Counsellor or a Peer Mentor.
I feel really bad – what can I do?
If you are feeling negative or despairing a lot of the time or if you feel nervous or panicky, you may be suffering from depression or anxiety.
You can also talk to one of our Counsellors or Peer Mentors in confidence.
